Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included the forms for Procedures for Medication - to check the box indicating if you will be doing topical medications such as diaper cream, etc. There are new online trainings offered at the website - www.dss.virginia.gov under child care/ resources.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10 am - 12:30 pm. There were 7 children in care with the provider and two assistants for 25 points. I observed the children playing outdoors; cuddling and listening to a story book; playing with toys; eating lunch and preparing for naptime. Description: During today's inspection, one infant was observed lying while drinking a bottle. Evidence: An infant was observed lying in the crib while drinking a bottle today. (Child may never be allowed to drink while lying down.)

Description: A review of staff files today found that required information was not present. Evidence: There were no references documented for the three assistants. There was also no written information concerning date of hire, age, emergency contacts, education and experience.
