- Technical Assistance:
Consultation was given on the National Criminal Record Checks that will be required July 2017. The provider should review the VA DSS web site childcareva.com for the most up to date information on the new regulation and its implementation.
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted today. Twelve children were in care with three caregivers for thirty five points which is within ratios for supervision. Observed free play, puzzles, infant care, diapering and preparation for lunch. The provider was making Correteiro (Brazilian dish with meat, veggies and rice). The backyard play area was not in use today due to the wet weather. First aid and CPR certifications were current for two caregivers and the provider renewed her certification the following week. Several children are still taking two naps each day. Emergency drills and supplies are up to date. Two children's records were reviewed and were complete. All cribs in use have been checked and meet current CPSC guidelines. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Please sign and date the report and return it to me within 10 calendar days from date of receipt. If you have any questions regarding the inspection, please feel free to contact me.
