Comments:
Today an unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 11:45am-1:30pm. There were 6 children( totaling 12points) directly supervised by 3 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 3 children?s records, 1household member?s record, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely and doing practicing their handwriting. Handwashing procedures were also observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not document having practiced monthly evacuation drills. Evidence: 1. There was no documentation recording any practiced evacuation drills.

Plan of Correction: The fire drill record was posted on the door leading downstairs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-B
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not document having practiced the shelter-in-place procedure. Evidence: 1. The was no documentation to review of any shelter-in-place drills.

Plan of Correction: I will find the paperwork.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-80-B
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not verify the identify and age of a child. Evidence: 1. Child #1 had no documentation on file to verify their identify and age.

Plan of Correction: documentation viewed & turned in on 9/8/16

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-A
Description: Based on direct observation, the provider had two small appliances plugged in, while not in use. Evidence: 1. In the kitchen, there was a coffee maker and toaster plugged in, while not in use.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-460-C
Description: Based on documentation review, one cat did not have a current rabies vaccination. Evidence: 1. Cat #1 had a rabies vaccination that expired on 9/6/16.
