You currently have 9 of the required 16 annual training hours required for 2016. For scheduled monthly escape drills please make sure you are setting off the smoke detector versus blowing a whistle to alert the children of the practiced drill.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The provider was present with one infant and two preschoolers for a total of 8 points. One preschooler was napping during the inspection. Three children files as well as the four residential files were reviewed today. The provider does not administer medications. Arrival time: 1:40 pm Departure time: 2: 20 pm
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on a review of three children's files, it was determined that not all of the information was in one child's file. Evidence: Child A enrolled on 10/8/16 and to date there was no second emergency contact identified. Plan of Correction: I will get this information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-430-B Description: Based on an inspection of the upstairs area, there was no gate used as a protective barriers at the stairs opening. Evidence: There was no gate at the top of the stairs, a 13 month old was present and walking around in the upstairs area and had access to the stairs. Plan of Correction: I will mount the pressure mounted gate at an area upstairs prior to the top of the stairs. I will use a the appropriate hardware gate if I am to place it at the top of the stairs.
