An initial licensing inspection was conducted on March 21, 2017, by appointment, between the hours of approximately 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. There were six children enrolled and four children in the care of the provider on this date. The provider's record, household member's record and all children's records were reviewed. The home and outdoor play area were toured. All areas of the licensing standards were observed/reviewed, including but not limited to: home maintenance including "childproofing;" infant crib and naptime regulations; landline telephone; first aid kit and emergency supplies; posted information (daily schedule, emergency telephone numbers, menu, daily schedule and emergency evacuation plan); available records/documents and caregiver training (first aid). Program observation was completed. Activities observed on this date included: morning snack; indoor play; lunch (provided by children's parents) and naptime. Adult/child interactions, behavior guidance and daily routines/transitions were also observed. The daily schedule and menu were consistent with the snack served and the activities provided. The children knew and followed the daily routine and transitions well. Recordkeeping and placement of the outdoor climber/swingset were discussed. No violations of licensing standards were cited during this initial inspection. Prior to license issuance verification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training (CPR) and verification of an annual chimney inspection are needed. Thank you for your time and assistance during the licensing process. Please contact me if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 430-9262.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
