Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Provider. This visit took place in the morning between 9:00am-11:15. There were 7 children with the Provider and 1 assistant for a total of 20 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having morning free play, playing with large motor activities, outdoor play, and in transition for lunch. Lunch today consisted of fish fillet,vegetable, fruit and milk. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, provider records, fire drill log, menu and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-750-A Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, sunscreen was found accessible to children. Evidence: Upon arrival, a sunscreen was found on a shelf unlocked and accessible to children and beyond the expiration date (2/17). Plan of Correction: Provider stated that it was placed there so she could show the parent the type of sunscreen used on the children. Provider removed during this inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, cleaning agents were found accessible to children. Evidence: A child was observed inside of the storage closet where cleaning agents and detergents were found on the floor and accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Provider immediately closed the door to the storage closet.
