An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:15 am - 11:45 am. There were nine children in care with the provider and one assistant for a total of 18 points. The children were observed participating in story time and free play. Lunch served today is chicken patty on bun, peas, pears, and milk. Nine children's records were observed and in compliance. The provider and assistant records were reviewed and in compliance. The most recent emergency evacuation drill was conducted 5/2/2017. The provider does not administer medication to children in the family day home at this time. MAT (medication administration training) is required to administer medication to children in the family day home. The provider is current in CPR and First Aid Training. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-730-D
Description: Based on observation of the daycare refrigerator it was determined that not all medication was kept in a locked place not accessible to children. Evidence: Five medications were observed in the door of the refrigerator accessible to children.

Plan of Correction: The provider removed the medication during the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-890
Description: Based on observation of the refrigerator it was determined that not all cups brought from home were labeled in a manner to identify the owner. Evidence: There were five sippy cups in the refrigerator that were not labeled with the owner's first, last name, and date.

Plan of Correction: The provider will label all sippy cups with first, last name, and date.
