Discussed mandatory training with the provider. Trainings should be conducted prior to February 27, 2018.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 12:00pm-1:15pm. There were 4 children(12 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 4 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. The family day home does not administer medication. Children were observed playing freely and watching a children's cartoon movie. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-E Description: Based on observation, not all diapers were disposed of in a leak-proof or plastic lined container storage system that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the caregiver's hand nor the soiled diaper or wipe touches the exterior surface of the storage system during disposal. Evidence: Two soiled diapers were observed on the open bottom shelf of the diaper changing table. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
