Technical Assistance:
An exit meeting was completed by the licensing inspector with the caregiver to review the findings for today's inspection.

Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from approximately 2:15 pm to 5:15 pm to determine compliance with subsidy requirements. During this inspection, there were ten children observed in care totaling 18 points with two caregivers present. The children were observed in the family day home sitting in the designated childcare area watching television, playing with blocks, sitting in bouncer seats, and preparing to eat lunch. The children's lunch today consisted of hotdogs, bread, banana, and green beans, and milk. The licensing inspector observed the caregivers assisting some of the children while eating at the table. After the children completed their lunch, the inspector observed the children sitting on the carpet watching the Amazing World of Dumbo. During this inspection, some of the children were observed by the inspector during drop off and pick up times. The required postings were observed and deemed in compliance at this time. The licensing inspector inspected the main room, kitchen area, bathroom, and designated childcare areas. There were eight children's records and three records to include the provider and household members reviewed during this inspection. The licensing inspector reviewed the certificates of completion for First Aid/ CPR and Virginia Preservice training for the provider, the provider's assistant, and the household member. The caregiver's emergency preparedness plan was also reviewed during this inspection. The last emergency drills and shelter in place drills were completed on 07/12/17. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector, Tiffany Harris, at (804) 662-9772.
