Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Provider. This visit took place in the afternoon between 12:00-2pm. There were 9 children with the Provider and 1 assistant for a total of 34 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having free play, playing with blocks, watching tv, learning numbers, having lunch and nap time. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920 Description: Based on review of the menu, the menu posted did not reflect what was being served today. Evidence: Menu posted had ham & cheese however the children were being served chicken barley, vegetable soup. Plan of Correction: Provider stated she will change the menu and make sure that it reflect the correct information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-A Description: Based on a review of the children in attendance, and written records the family day home did not have all of the children documented on the attendance record. Evidence: Upon arrival, there were 9 children present however the attendance record posted only had 4 children listed. Plan of Correction: Provider stated that some of the children arrived late and they forgot to add them to the attendance sheet.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-B Description: Based on observation, Provider did not wash hands with soap and water prior to eating lunch. Evidence: Two children were fed lunch however there hands were not washed prior to or after. Plan of Correction: Provider wash the hands during this inspection after instructed by inspector.
