Comments:
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted today between the hours of 9:30am through 11:30am. There were 5 children (10 points) with the provider and her assistant. Five children's files and 2 staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, turkey art project, outside time, bathroom breaks, and other organized activities. The house was clean and organized. The caregiver and assistant are both CPR and First Aid Trained. The caregiver is not MAT certified to give medications. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-A
Description: Based on observation, small electrical appliances were plugged in and were not being used by the caregiver. Evidence: 1. One toaster, a tea kettle and a Coffee maker were plugged in the kitchen and were not being used at the time of the inspection.

Plan of Correction: I will plan to unplug them when not in use.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-330-A
Description: Based on observation, a landline telephone that does not require electricity to operate was not available, operable and accessible during the family day home's hours of operation. Evidence: 1. The caregiver had a landline phone, but it required electricity to operate it.

Plan of Correction: I will purchase a phone that does not require electricity.
