An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted January 24 2018 between 1:00pm and 2:30pm. There were 8 children in the direct care of 3 staff members. Children were observed working on the letter 'N', working on art, building, and working in the bean table. Staff were observed to be consistently engaged with the children. The home has plenty of age appropriate materials for the children to utilized as well as books and toys. Areas of non-compliance are listed on the violation page. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on observation, emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly. Evidence: A drill was not documented as conducted December . Plan of Correction: Will continue to document drills when they are conducted.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-c Description: Based on record review, 1 of 3 staffing records reviewed did not have the required repeat background checks. Evidence: Staff #1 last had a central registry check completed 10/12/2012 and it expired on 10/12/2017. Plan of Correction: I will send it off in the mail and will let the inspector know when it returns.
