Today an unannounced renewal visit was conducted with the Provider. This visit took place in the morning between 11:30-1:15 there were 6 children with the Provider and 1 assistant for a total of 20 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having lunch, nap and free play. Lunch consisted of hotdogs, pasta, fried rice and fruit and milk. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and provider records, fire drill log,menu, and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920 Description: Based on review of the weekly menu, the menu was not dated as required and did not reflect what was being served. Evidence: Upon arrival, the menu posted did not include the date for the current week. The menu posted did not reflect what the children were being served. Hotdogs and pasta was being served, menu reflected chicken nuggets and coucous with broccoli. Plan of Correction: Provider stated that she will add date and usually parents provide the food for children.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-A Description: Based on observation, caregiver hands were not washed with soap and water prior to assisting with feeding. Evidence: Caregiver was observed assisting children with feeding however they did not wash their hands with soap and running water. Plan of Correction: Provider immediately cleaned hands during this inspection.
