Discussed concerns re:The Provider not being present at the visits and concerns regarding parents being allowed in the childcare area.
Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Provider Assistant. This visit took place in the morning there were 7 children with 2 caregivers for a total of 24 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having morning free play story-time, and actively engaged in gross and fine motor activities. Positive interaction were observed. A complete inspection of the physical plant, attendance records, fire drill log, menu and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920 Description: Based on observation the menu posted did not reflect a date for the current one-week period. Evidence: Upon arrival, the menu posted did not have a date for the current week. Plan of Correction: Provider stated that she will add the dates to the menu each week.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E Description: Based on observation of the bottles, bottles were found without the name and or date. Evidence: 2 bottles were found without name and or the date. Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure that the date and name are visible.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, an outlet was found missing a protective cover and accessible to children under five years of age. Evidence: In the childcare area, one outlet was found missing protective cover and accessible to 7 children under five years of age. Plan of Correction: Caregiver covered it during this inspection. Corrected.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-530-B Description: Based on observation, the crib being used did not have a tight-fitting bottom cover. Evidence: Upon arrival, a infant was observed in a crib with a loose-fitting bottom cover. Plan of Correction: Provider will put sheet adjusters on sheets today.
