An unannounced full renewal inspection was conducted today. The provider and two assistant caregivers were caring for 9 children, totaling 28 points. Children's records, caregiver records, caregiver health records, training records, the physical plant, children's nutrition, and emergency preparedness items were inspected today. The children were observed playing with toys, building with Legos, and preparing for lunch. The children were to be served pasta with chicken and mixed vegetables, and milk for lunch today. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:15am and 11:45am. Thank you for meeting with me today. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E Description: Based on observations, it was determined that two infant bottles were not labeled as required. Evidence: Two infant bottles of formula/breast milk were not labeled with each child's name. Plan of Correction: The bottles will be labeled today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on a review of caregiver health records, it was determined that two required TB health screenings have not been repeated within the past 2 years. Evidence: The TB health screening report for the provider and caregiver A expired on 10/23/17. Plan of Correction: We will both get a repeat health screening done this week.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observations, it was determined that one potentially poisonous substance was not stored in a way to keep it inaccessible to the children. Evidence: One spray bottle of cleaning solution was stored inside the floor level cabinet of the diaper changing table. The lock on this cabinet door is broken, leaving the bottle of cleaning solution accessible to the children. Plan of Correction: I will replace the lock on the door.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B Description: Based on observations, it was determined that one electrical outlet was not covered. Evidence: One outlet on the wall in the children's bathroom was not covered. Plan of Correction: I will cover it today.
