Comments:
A request to modify the provider's license as a result of a new location was made. An announced inspection was conducted this date to walk thru provider's new family day home location. All areas of the home was observed. New construction is being completed on the lower level and backyard of the home. Until construction is complete, no children in care are permitted access to these areas. Once construction is complete, a follow up inspection will be conducted to inspect the finished area. Thank you for your cooperation today. Ample space and equipment was verified today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-430-A
Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, children under the age of 2 have access to stairs. Evidence: The main floor of the home has two sets of stairs, one leading downstairs and one leading upstairs. Gates have not been installed to prevent access to these steps.

Plan of Correction: Mounted gates will be installed prior to the children arriving on Monday.
