- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided in the following areas of the standards: 22VAC40-191 (Background checks); 22VAC40-111-(11)-800 (Emergency plan)
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 9/10/18 from 11:40am - 1:15pm. At the time of the inspection there were two children in care, ages seven months old to three years old (6 points), with one caregiver present. Records were reviewed for four children and two caregivers/household members. Children were observed during rest period and various activities. There was no medication at the family day home. Emergency plan and emergency supplies were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice and were discussed with the provider during the exit interview.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-D Description: Based on a review of the emergency drill log for the Family Day Home, it was determined that the provider did not ensure that the records of emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place drills shall be maintained for one year. Evidence: 1. The last documented emergency evacuation drill on the emergency evacuation drill log was 3/7/18. 2. The provider reviewed the emergency evacuation drill record and confirmed that emergency evacuation drills for April, May, June, July, and August were not documented. Plan of Correction: The provide responded: The monthly emergency evacuation drills were completed and documented. I must have thrown thrown away the paper they were documented on. Going forward the emergency drill log will be maintained in a separate location to ensure it current and accurate.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.
