An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:40am-12:50pm. There were 7 children (17 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 4 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely, working at the table with the teacher and being comforted by staff after a parent had left. Diapering procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not keep a written record of children in attendance each day. Evidence: August 24, 2018 was the last day a written record of attendance was taken. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-70-A Description: Based on record review, there was not evidence that the parents were provided with the family day home's emergency preparedness plan in writing before the first date of attendance. Evidence: Children 3, 4 and 5's record did not contain evidence that the parents have been informed of the provider's emergency preparedness plan. Plan of Correction: I will give parents copies of the plan.
