The provider shall create better management systems in order to improve record keeping compliance.
An unannounced full renewal inspection was conducted today. The provider was caring for 7 children, totaling 14 points. Children's records, background checks, caregiver training, emergency preparedness items, the physical plant, children's nutrition, and children's programming were inspected today. The children were observed playing with toys, engaging in creative play, and interacting with the provider. The children were to be served beef bulgogi with vegetables, rice, bananas, honeydew, and milk for lunch later today. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:00am and 11:10am. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on a review of emergency preparedness items, it was determined that the provider has not conducted a fire evacuation drill each month. Evidence: The provider did not conduct an evacuation drill during the month of July, 2018. Plan of Correction: I will remember to do a fire drill every month. We did a tornado drill in July.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that three records were not complete. Evidence: 1. Child record A does not include: dad's place of employment; the address for the second emergency contact person. 2. Child record B does not include dad's place of employment. 3. Child record E does not include: the information for a second emergency contact person; the parent's medical insurance policy number. Plan of Correction: I will ask each parent for the information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B Description: Based on observations, it was determined that one electrical outlet was not covered. Evidence: One electrical outlet in the basement craft room was not covered. Plan of Correction: I will cover it today.
