54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed today. The physical plant, 4 caregiver/household member files, 5 children's files, caregiver training, child nutrition, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected today between 11:40am-1:00pm. There were 8 children (plus the Provider's daughter), totaling 26 points, under the supervision of 2 caregivers. Today, the children sang songs, prepared for and ate lunch, enjoyed free play and read books. The interactions between the children and caregivers were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. Today, the children were served chicken with rice, leeks, and carrots, oranges, celery and milk. The Provider is currently certified in MAT (medication administration training). Standard #: 22VAC40-111-120-B Description: Based on file review, 1 caregiver does not have all required information on file. Evidence 1. Caregiver #3 does not have the name address and telephone number of a person to be notified in an emergency or documentation that two or more references as to character and reputation as well as competency were checked before employment. Plan of Correction: The Provider will have this done.
