Technical Assistance:
The RECDC shall establish and implement procedures for handwashing by staff and children before eating.

Comments:
An unannounced code compliance inspection was initiated on 1/31/2024 and concluded on 1/31/2024 from 10:05 AM to 11:15 AM. There were 10 children present, ranging in ages from 3 to 5, with two staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and procedures. A total of five children?s records and two staff?s records were reviewed.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.

Standard #: 22.1-289.031-B-4
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to implement a procedure to ensure all children in the center are in compliance with immunization provisions.

Evidence:

1. The record for child 5 was reviewed. No documentation of immunizations were found child 5's record.
2. Staff 2 stated they do require immunizations. Staff 2 verified there was no immunizations in child 5's record.

Plan of Correction: The parents on child 5 will be contacted to provide an immunization record.
In the future no child will be allowed to begin at the preschool until immunization records are received.
