An unannounced inspection was conducted in response to a self reported incident on 2/15/24. The incident was related to allegations about staff using inappropriate methods to redirect a child in the Older 2's classroom. 4 staff members were interviewed, 2 staff records and 1 child's record was reviewed. Based on the preponderance of evidence, the allegations were not valid. Other violations not related to the allegations have been cited in the violation notice. Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-2 Description: Based on records review, the center did not obtain results of a fingerprint based criminal record check (CRC) for an employee prior to the first day of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 2's first day of employment was 2/12/24.
2. Results of Staff # 2's CRC was obtained on 2/21/24.Plan of Correction: Fingerprints will be completed to the first day of employment.
Standard #: 8VAC20-770-40-D-2 Description: Based on records reviewed, the center did not obtain a sworn disclosure statement (SDS) for an employee prior to the first day of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's first day of employment was 2/12/24.
2. The center had not obtained an SDS for Staff # 1 to this date.Plan of Correction: Staff # 1 is no longer employed with the center. Moving forward sworn statements will be completed before or by the first day of employment .
