Technical assistance today included locations for emergency situations and night time care and physical environment.

A scheduled inspection took place today at the new residence of the provider. The new site for child care will be on the lower level, with a spacious area set up for children's play. A wide variety of age appropriate learning materials were available today.The area is bright and inviting. Five children are currently in care but not present today due to the relocation. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-770 Description: Based on a review of supplies at the new address, there were not emergency flashlights and radios as required. Plan of Correction: They are still in boxes since we moved. We will finish unpacking today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on a observation during today's inspection, there were some areas not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: In the outdoor area, the air conditioner unit is accessible and there is no lock on the shed. Plan of Correction: We will build a small fence or barrier, but we will not use the backyard until it is ready. We will use the park that is one block away.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-330-A Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, there is a connection for the landline phone but the phone is not accessible today. Plan of Correction: The phone is still packed but we will have it available this weekend.
