Technical Assistance:
Licensing inspector discussed child abuse and neglect training, and evacuation map with the provider.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from approximately 3:20pm-5:20pm. There were 2 children (5 points) directly supervised by 1 caregiver. A sample of 2 children?s records and 3 caregiver's records were reviewed. The children were observed eating a snack and preparing for dismissal. The bathroom of the family day home is being renovated. Zero new caregivers have been hired since the last inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-800-B
Description: Based on observation, the emergency plan was not reviewed at least annually. Evidence: The emergency plan was last updated 05/08/2018.

Plan of Correction: I will update it today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920
Description: Based on observation, the family day home did not have a menu posted. Evidence: A menu was not posted.

Plan of Correction: We were renovating and didn't have a chance to post everything back. We will post it.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based on record review, caregivers did not complete 16 hours of training annually. Evidence: 1. Caregiver A and B complete 14 hours of training in 2018. 2. Caregiver B stated that they follow a January - December year.

Plan of Correction: We will have 16 hours of training for 2019.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-A
Description: Based on observation, small electrical appliances were not unplugged. Evidence: The following small appliances were not unplugged: Microwave, toaster oven, rice cooker, mini blender, and two electric kettles.

Plan of Correction: I was unaware I will unplug items when not in use.

Description: Based on observation, the most recent inspection wasn't posted. Evidence: There was no evidence of a recent inspection posted.
