Comments:
Thank you for your time and assistance with the announced initial inspection conducted today, July 9, 2019. The on-site inspection was held from 10:35a.m. to 1:40p.m. On this date, there were no children in the care of the provider and there were seven children enrolled in the program. There were two children's records reviewed, along with the record for the provider. At this time, the provider will not be administering any medications. The home and outside play areas were toured. There was an ample supply of toys, equipment and learning materials available to the children. The curriculum being used is Learning Box Preschool and the theme for the week was Safari. There was a display of art projects the children had completed. There were no violations of the licensing standards found. Some items reviewed/observed included: required posted information, date a crib was manufactured, labeled cots, linens, refrigerator and freezer temperature, emergency flashlight and weather-band radio with extra batteries, first-aid kit, warm water temperature, daily attendance record, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, land-line telephone, documentation of evacuation and shelter-in-place drills, documentation of liability insurance, diaper changing station, diaper creams and parent authorizations, and outdoor play equipment. A recommendation will be made to issue a conditional family day home license with a capacity of 12 children and an age range of newborn through 12 years. Please contact your inspector, Diann Reed, if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards, and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 280-0742.
