Technical Assistance:
We discussed the requirements for annual training. The risk assessment for a violation was provided.

We reviewed requirements for annual chimney inspections, annual emergency contact reviews, shelter-in-place drill, annual emergency plan review and training.

Comments:
Thank you for your assistance during the unannounced monitoring inspection conducted from 9:57 AM to 1:55 PM. Today, there were eight children, ages twenty-two months through five years (sixteen points) with two caregivers. I viewed daily routines, activities, staffing, supervision, interactions with children, equipment, posted information, diapering procedures, emergency supplies and drill records, injury record, menu/nutrition, five records for children, three records for caregivers, caregiver training, caregiver qualifications, pet records, indoor and outdoor areas. The children have enjoyed activities related to Van Gogh's colors and paintings, flowers and how they grow. A variety of play and learning materials were available. The caregivers were observed providing positive interactions with individual children. Recently, there was a graduation program for parents.

Let me know if you need any assistance. 540/430-9259

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based on a review of training records for caregivers, and interviews with the caregivers, a minimum of sixteen hours of annual training was not completed by two caregivers. Evidence: There was only a five hour training completed in January 2019 for caregiver 1 and 2. The provider indicated they plan to participate in online training in August. Also, the provider said she thought the training year went by the current licensing period rather than the initial license date.

Plan of Correction: The caregivers will participate in at least sixteen hours of training every twelve months.
