63.2 Facilities and Programs

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:00am-1:15pm. There were 12 children (42 points) supervised by 4 direct care staff. The home, 4 staff records, 8 children?s records, 2 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Medications were also reviewed. Children were observed eating lunch, playing with Legos and a felt board, and transitioning to naptime. Lunch served was hotdogs, bread, tomatoes, and milk. Diapering and handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-700-A
Description: Based on record review, 1 of 2 medications did not have written authorization from the parent.

Evidence: Child #7's Auvi-Q did not have a medication authorization form that was signed by the parent.

Plan of Correction: I will have the parents sign today.
