Comments:
An unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted this date. A total of 8 children (24pts) with Provider and 1 Assistant on site today. When the Inspector arrived, the children were dressed up in princess costumes to celebrate Prince and Princess day. The children were playing with table top activities and with equipment and toys available to them on the floor. A nice transition was observed from morning play time to lunch time. Lunch today was pasta with marinara and beef with mixed vegetables. Staff were observed assisting those that needed with eating and encouraging independence for those children who were able to eat independently. Sanitizing of the high chairs and table was observed prior and after lunch. Hand washing procedures were observed by both staff and children before and after lunch. The children were preparing to transition to afternoon nap. Walk through of the home was made, observation of the crib area was conducted. Currently 3 cribs in use at this time. All 8 children's records were reviewed, all staff records, emergency drills and 3 medications were reviewed and authorizations found completed. Previous violations from the June inspection were reviewed and corrective actions were verified. This inspection began at approximately 10:35am and ended at 12:30pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@dss.virginia.gov with any questions.
