Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between 8:30 am and 11 am. At the time of the tour there were 4 children in care, totaling 9 points with 1 caregiver staff present. A sample of 4 children's records and 6 caregiver/household records were reviewed. Children were observed watching television, listening to music and playing games.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-770
Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure the home had all required emergency supplies.
Evidence:
The licensee had an emergency radio, however it did not have batteries.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee during the exit interview:
The licensee will purchase batteries for the radio and ensure it works.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A
Description: Based on a record review the licensee did not ensure all requirements were met when preparing for emergencies.
Evidence:
The licensee did not have a fire drill documented for the month of October.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee during the exit interview:
The licensee did practice an evacuation drill in October, but forgot to document it.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920
Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure when meals are provided by the family day home, it was current for a one-week period.
Evidence:
The menu posted in the family day home was dated for October 2019.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee during the exit interview:
The menu was posted behind the one dated for October. This was corrected during the inspection.
