Standard #: 22VAC40-111-480-F Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on provider interviews, it was determined that the provider does not properly clean and sanitize the toys that are mouthed by the children daily.
The provider indicated that she does not clean and sanitize the mouthed toys daily. The provider indicated that some of the toys are cleaned with soap and water; and some of the toys are sanitized with a bleach/water solution. However, none of the mouthed toys are cleaned with soap and water followed by being sanitized with bleach and water.
Plan of Correction: All of the toys are cleaned each day, but I will start cleaning and sanitizing all of them each night. I will clean them with soap and water in the sink, then rinse them with warm water, then spray them with a mixed bleach/water solution.
