Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Topics also discussed centered around TB documentation, and a search of the central registry needed for a household member who turned 14 years of age during the pandemic. Leniency was utilized with regards to documentation that was unable to be completed due to the current state of emergency and doctor offices that were closed.

Please review the memo sent out to all licensed facilities, dated - 06/26/2020 on the subject of 2020 Legislative Implementation. Please pay close attention to Senate Bill 668 with regards to staff who currently live out of state or who have lived out of state within the past (5) years.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on August 13, 2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There was (1) child (2 points) present with (1) caregiver. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed (2) children?s records, (1) staff record, and (1) household member record submitted by the family day home to ensure documentation was complete.

The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were cited.

If you should have any questions, please call or send an email to charles.perkins@dss.virginia.gov. Thank you.

Charlie Perkins,
Licensing Inspector
