Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 09/10/2020 and concluded on 09/11/2020. The licensee was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 7 children present and 2 caregivers. The inspector emailed the licensee a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed2 children?s records and 4 caregiver records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920
Description: Based on observation and interview the licensee did not ensure all menu requirements.
Evidence:
The menu for the week was not posted in the home. The provider stated she was not able to print it.

Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provided during the exit interview:
Provider had issues trying to print the menu and it was never posted. In the future a a handwritten menu or email will be sent to families and a note on the parent board.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280
Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure potentially poisonous materials were out of the reach of children.
Evidence:
There was a liquid air freshener containing liquid plugged into an electrical outlet in the bathroom used by the children. It was in reach of children.

Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provided during the exit interview:
The air freshener was removed during the inspection.
