Technical Assistance:

3. Inspector shared new background check laws with the provider.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An on-site inspection of the home was not conducted at this time however, a portion of the inspection included a virtual component which allowed the inspector to observe the daycare areas of the home.

An announced renewal inspection was conducted on this date. The provider was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were 6 children = 16 points with the Provider + Assistant #2. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection, and from that information submitted by the provider, the inspector reviewed 2 child records, and 2 caregiver records to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined one area of non-compliance with applicable standards or laws, which has been documented on the violation notice issued to the provider. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@dss.virginia.gov

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B
Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 1 of 2 children's records did not include required information. Evidence: Child #9 - There was no documentation of actions to take if the child has an allergic reaction to diagnosed allergies.

Plan of Correction: The Provider stated that she has requested an allergy action plan from the parents.
