This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 11/30/2020 and concluded on 12/04/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children in care during the inspection due to COVID-19. The inspector reviewed 2 children's records, one caregiver record and one household member record during the inspection to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-140-B-3 Description: Based on record review and discussion, the provider failed to maintain a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Evidence: The most recent CPR certification obtained my Caregiver #1 expired on 01/01/2020.Plan of Correction: The provider is waiting to get into a class to get recertified.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-140-B-4 Description: Based on record review and discussion, the provider failed to maintain a current certification in first aid.
Evidence: The most recent first aid certification obtained my Caregiver #1 expired on 01/01/2020.Plan of Correction: The provider is waiting to get into a class to get recertified.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on record review and discussion, the provider failed to ensure that each caregiver and adult household member obtains a tuberculosis screening every two years from the date of the first screening.
Evidence:
1. The record for Caregiver #1 contained documentation of a tuberculosis test dated 06/13/2020; there was not a follow-up screening for 2020.
2. The record for Household Member #1 contained documentation of a tuberculosis test dated 06/15/2018; there was not a follow-up screening for 2020.Plan of Correction: The provider will discuss getting updated screenings with her doctor.
