Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A subsidy complaint inspection was initiated on December 14, 2020 and concluded on December 16, 2020. A subsidy complaint was received by the department regarding allegations in the areas of reporting. The provider was contacted by telephone to conduct the investigation.

The evidence gathered during the investigation supported the allegation of non-compliance with subsidy regulations, and a violation was issued. Any violations not related to the complaint but identified during the course of the investigation can be found on the violation notice.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-200-A-3
Description: Based on interview, the vendor did not inform the department's inspector as soon as practicable, but not to exceed one business day, regarding suspension or termination of all child care services for more than 24 hours as a result of an emergency situation.

Evidence:
During the 12/14/2020 phone call, the vendor stated she was closed December 2, 2020 through December 11, 2020. The vendor stated she informed families but she did not notify the department as required.

Plan of Correction: I did not think to notify the inspector. I will make sure to let the inspector know in the future if I need to close for more than one day.
