This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 02/05/2021 and concluded on 02/05/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection and the inspection of the family day home was completed virtually using FaceTime. There were 2 children present (4 points) with the provider. The Inspector reviewed no children?s records and 4 caregiver/household member records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. There have been no new child admissions since the last inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on record review, emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly.
Evidence:
Evacuation drills were not documented for the months of August 2020 and November 2020.Plan of Correction: Fire drills will also be completed in the months when shelter in place drills are done.
Standard #: 63.2-1721.1-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain a central registry finding before 5 years since the dates of the most recent central registry finding for 3 of 4 caregiver/household members.
Evidence:
1. Central registry findings for Caregiver #1, Household Member #1, and Household Member #2 expired on 11/16/2020.
2. New Central Registry findings for Caregiver #1, Household Member #1, and Household Member #2 were obtained on 12/1/2020.Plan of Correction: Updated central registry check results were obtained on 12/1/2020.
