Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was completed on February 22, 2021. The provider was contacted by telephone (video call) to initiate the inspection. There were eight children present and in the care of the provider and an assistant (13 Points). The inspector was able to view all required documentation. The provider's record, a staff member's record and two children's record were reviewed. The inspector was able to virtually observe the children in care and each room being used for care.

Information gathered during the inspection determined a non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-A-1
Description: Based on review of the first aid kit and verification from the provider, the provider failed to have all required items in the first aid kit.

Evidence:
1. There was no adhesive tape present in the first aid kit.
2. The provider verified that she had thrown away the old adhesive tape and had forgotten to get replacement tape.

Plan of Correction: The provider will purchase new adhesive tape and ensure it is in the first aid kit.
