Technical Assistance:

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Consultation was given on contacting OBI to follow-up on background checks.

Comments:

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 03/08/2021 and concluded on 03/10/2021. The Provider was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were seven children with two caregivers for twenty four points which is within ratio for supervision. Reviewed nutrition, children and household member?s records, trainings and emergency preparation. No medication was reported to be on-site the day of the inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Description:	Based on provider statement and record review, a household member (HHM) has not a child protective services central registry check within 30 days of becoming 14 years old. Evidence: HHM turned 14 years of age 9/2020 and did not have a central registry check or documentation that a follow-up call was made to verify that DSS had received the form.

Description:	Based on provider statement and record review, an employee has continued to work without a central registry finding within 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff #A was employed 9/2020 and a central registry request was mailed but the provider did not follow up within 30 days to determine results. The provider reached out to DSS on 3/11/2021.
