Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding current CDC and VDH requirements for mask wearing in Family Day Homes. Pursuant to the Governor?s Executive Order 72 and Order of Public Health Emergency 9, all children ages five and older and all staff are required to wear face coverings at child care programs while indoors and when outdoors and unable to maintain at least six feet of social distance. Children ages two through four are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings while indoors and outdoors, especially if children are in close contact.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 3/15/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 4 children present and 2 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records, 2 staff records, and 4 household member records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Please complete the columns for "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" for each violation cited on the Violation Notice, and then return a signed and dated copy to the licensing office by 4pm on Monday 3/22/21. Please email me at morgan.bryson1@dss.virginia.gov with any questions.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-5-a
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain the results of a Virginia Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect search for a household member within 30 days of turning age 14.

Evidence: Household Member #4 turned age 14 more than 30 days ago and did not have Virginia Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect search results on file.

Plan of Correction: I wasn't aware that we have to get it done at age 14, I have mailed the search letter to already this week.
