The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/12/21 and concluded on 04/13/2021. The licensee was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 12 children present and 2 caregivers. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 1 caregiver record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-550 Description: Based on observation the licensee did not follow all requirements when a play pen was used.
Evidence
A 12 month-old child was observed sleeping in a play pen.Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee during the exit interview.
The licensee stated the child's crib was broken and has ordered a new one and used the play pen until the new crib comes in. The licensee will have the child sleep on a cot until the new crib arrives.
