- Technical Assistance:
The provider and inspector discussed renewing background checks and requirements for all household members.
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on June 8, 2021 and concluded on June 9th, 2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 3 children present and 1 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records, 1 staff record and 6 household member's records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-900-B Description: Based on observation, children were allowed to drink while laying down.
Evidence: Child 2 was observed laying in a crib while drinking a botte. The provider stated they put the child in the crib with the bottle.
Plan of Correction: The child was taken out of the crib at the time of inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observation, hazardous materials were accessible to children.
Evidence: A cleaning solution was observed on the back of the toilet accessible to childreh utilizing the bathroom.
Plan of Correction: The cleaning product was placed in a locked cabinet in the bathroom.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-530-B Description: Based on observation, there was not a tight-fitting bottom cover for a crib mattress.
Evidence: A child was observed in a crib that did not have a tight-fitting bottom cover.
Plan of Correction: We will get a new cover for the mattress.
