1. Inspector provided information about the annual health + safety training requirement.

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted today to review supplemental health and safety requirements not covered in the licensing regulations. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date, and the two inspections combined cover all SHSI requirements. Areas of non-compliance found have been cited on the Violation Notice of this report. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@dss.virginia.gov

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-230-H Description: Based on interview conducted, it was determined that staff have not completed the annual health + safety training, as required for child care subsidy vendors. Evidence: The Provider + Assistant #2 have not completed the annual training since it was first due for them in 2019. Plan of Correction: The inspector provided registration information for the training course. The caregivers will complete the training in the next month, and once every year thereafter.
