Technical Assistance:
Discussed with the provider the requirements for annual training for staff and updating the medication policy until she obtains re-certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) as it is currently expired.

Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted today from 9:15am to 10:20am with the provider and two assistants. There were five children in care, ranging from six months to three years of age, for a total of 14 points. Children were observed doing puzzles and playing with tabletop toys. Five children?s records, the provider's record, two staff records, two household members? records, and one pet record were reviewed. The provider and two assistants have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider is not currently certified in Medication Administration Training (MAT) and therefore, cannot give medication. Breakfast today was pancakes, fruit, and milk. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, and fire extinguisher were observed. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. The provider has submitted all of the required application materials at this time. A recommendation for a six-month conditional license will be made at this time.
