Technical Assistance:

Tuberculosis screenings must be updated every 2 years for caregivers and adult household members.

Comments:

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program. A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 12/9/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 12 children present, ranging in ages from 1 year to 4 years of age, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Description:	Based on a review of records and interview, the licensee did not obtain for each caregiver and adult household member a current Report of Tuberculosis Screening, in accordance with the requirements in 22 VAC 40-111-170, every two years from the date of the first screening. Evidence: Two caregiver records were reviewed during the inspection. The Most recent TB screening for caregiver #1 was dated 6/14/2018. The most recent TB screening for caregiver #2 was dated 2/5/20219. The licensee confirmed that she did not have updated TB screenings for caregiver #1 or caregiver #2 and had not realized that they were expired.
Plan of Correction:	The licensee stated that she will obtain new TB Screenings for caregiver #1 and Caregiver #2 by January 10, 2021 and will maintain current screenings in the records, updating as necessary.
