A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted today to review supplemental health and safety requirements not covered in the licensing regulations. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date, and the two inspections combined cover all SHSI requirements. Areas of non-compliance of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@doe.virginia.gov

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-230-B Description: Based on interview conducted, it was determined that the assistant caregiver has not completed the Virginia Preservice Training within 90-days of working in an approved subsidized family day home. Evidence: The home was approved for subsidy care in April 2021, and to-date the assistant caregiver has not completed the 10-hour training course. Plan of Correction: The training will be completed by the end of the month.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-230-E-1 Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that the assistant caregiver is not currently certified in CPR. Evidence: The previous certification expired 12/21/21. Plan of Correction: Scheduled to be completed 1/29/22.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-230-E-2 Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that the assistant caregiver is not currently certified in First Aid. Evidence: The previous certification expired 12/21/21. Plan of Correction: Scheduled to be completed 1/29/22.
