This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contact, documentation review, and interview.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 1/7/22 and concluded on 1/11/22. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were no children present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical health of caregivers and household members, caregiver training, and special care and emergencies. A total of three child records, the provider's record, five household members records, and two pet records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-210-A Description: Based on review of documentation, the provider did not obtain a minimum of 16 hours of annual training. Evidence: Certificates documenting five hours of annual training were submitted during the inspection. Plan of Correction: I will be sure to obtain 16 hours of annual training each year.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-460-C Description: Based on review of documentation and interview with the provider, the provider did not ensure that pets had current vaccination for rabies. Evidence: The rabies vaccine documentation submitted for one cat stated that an update was due on 2/7/21. The provider reported that this was the most recent vaccination for the cat. Plan of Correction: The rabies booster has been scheduled for 1/24/22.
