Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 1/20/2022 and concluded on 1/26/2022. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 4 children present, ranging in ages from 17 months to 3, with 2 caregivers supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 5 household members and caregivers records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please call me at 703-203-8659 if you have any questions regarding this inspection.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-770-40-D-5-a
Description: Based on the review of background records for household members, the provider failed to get the central registry check for a household member that turned 14 years old.
Evidence: Based on interview with the provider and husband the background check had not been submitted at the time of the renewal inspection.

Plan of Correction: We submitted the paperwork to OBI on 1/20/22 and will let the inspector know as soon as it is returned completed. The child turn 14 in December and we had not done it yet.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-210-A
Description: Based on the review of the Paperwork submitted by the provider, the provider and assistant failed to get 16 hours of training in the last year.
Evidence: Based on the review of records and interviews with the provider and her husband, the caregivers did not take any training in the last year other than first aid and cpr.

Plan of Correction: Due to the pandemic we did not take any training in the last year. We will make sure we attend training or take online training in the upcoming licensing year.
