Technical assistance was offered regarding: Evacuation Drills.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 1/26/22. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 6 children (12 points)in direct care and supervision of 2 caregivers. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, equipment used for children, staffing and supervision, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. 2 children's records, 2 caregiver and 1 adult household member records were reviewed. were reviewed. Emergency drill records and supplies were also reviewed.
Due to the licensee's non-compliance with the Mandated Federal Crib Standards, the licensee must come into compliance and submit appropriate documentation to the licensing inspector within 30 days of receipt of the violation notice. The licensing inspector and the licensee discussed that any non-compliant crib(s) in the home can only be used for the licensee's own children or children that reside in the licensed family day home. The licensee has identified to the licensing inspector all cribs that will be used for children enrolled in the family day home.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A
Description: Based on observation and interview, furnishings in the family day home were not maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. Cribs used for children in are must meet the current U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) standards. The standard requires a label on the crib that indicates that the crib was manufactured after June 28, 2011, or a certificate of compliance indicating that the crib meets federal standards.
2. The label for 1 of 8 cribs being used for children showed a manufacturing date of 03/15/1999.

Plan of Correction: Remove crib from daycare that was manufactured before 2011.
