22.1 Background Checks Code; carbon monoxide detectors

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between 2:30pm and 3:15pm. There were 5 children present with the two caregivers for a total of 10 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed resting, waking from rest time and washing hands. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Thank you for your cooperation. Standard #: 22.1-289.058 Description: Based on interview, the family day home is not equipped with at least on carbon monoxide detector.
Evidence: Household member #3 confirmed that the home does not have a carbon monoxide detector.Plan of Correction: I can get one this weekend.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-60-B Description: Based on record review, children's records do not contain all required information.
Evidence: Child #2's record does not contain the families medical insurance policy number.Plan of Correction: We will ask the family to provide the number.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-180-A Description: Based on record review and interview, the provider has not obtained a subsequent tuberculosis (TB) screening every two years for each adult household member.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1's most recent TB screening is dated 12/31/2019.
2. Staff #2's most recent TB screening is dated 12/31/2019.
3. Household member #3's most recent TB screening is dated 12/31/2019.
4. Household member #4' most recent TB screening is dated 12/31/2019.
5. Household member #3 stated that appointments have been made for next week for all expired TB screenings to be renewed.Plan of Correction: Appointments have been made for next week.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-210-A Description: Based on record review, all caregivers have not obtained a minimum of 16 hours of training annually in areas relevant to their job responsibilities.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver #1's record contains documentation of 8 hours of training during 2021.
2. Caregiver #2's record contains documentation of 9 hours of training during 2021.Plan of Correction: We can try to do online trainings with in-person trainings to get 16 hoursl.
