An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated on 3/28/2022 and concluded on 3/28/2022, the inspector was on site from approximately 12:15pm to 2:16pm. There were 5 children present, with 1 caregiver. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 children's record, 2 caregiver records and 1 household member record were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-730-D Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure medications for caregivers and household members were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
The provider's household medication was located on a shelf in an unlocked refrigerator.Plan of Correction: Will purchase and put on a lock the refrigerator.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-100-A Description: Based on record review, one of two children's records did not contain documentation of a physical examination by or under the direction of a physician prior to a child's attendance or within 30 days after the first day of attendance.
Evidence:
The record of child #2 (start date: 3/8/2021) did not have documentation of a physical examination.Plan of Correction: Will let parent know and going forward, make sure I have one submitted within 30 days, no exceptions.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-530-G Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure children under two years of age do not use pillows or filled comforter.
Evidence:
Child #1 (Age: 1 year) was observed sleeping on a pillow attached to a naptime mat.Plan of Correction: Will replace with mat.
